SKITTLES® and youth charity Minus18 are joining forces to create Australia’s biggest ever Active Allyship movement.
Now’s the time to be loud and proud about your support. Become an Ally of the community with this short but sweet guide that’ll evolve your understanding of LGBTQIA+ topics, terms & history along with ways to support people coming out and generally be a more visible and active voice.
Mod 1
YOUR GUIDE TO WORDS AND DEFINITIONS IN THE LGBTQIA+ COMMUNITY
So you’ve been staring at the LGBTQIA+ acronym and wondering what all those letters mean (not to mention that plus sign!). Or maybe someone you know has just come out and you’re too embarrassed to actually ask about their identity (we’ve been there). Learn about the acronym and more in our handy guide.
Mod 2
EDUCATE YOURSELF ON BEING AN ALLY
What do allies do exactly? Fair question. This is how you can actually show your Allyship IRL: Check out our article around being an active ally.
DEEPEN YOUR TRANS ALLYSHIP
The ‘T’ in LGBTQIA+ stands for the Trans and Gender Diverse community. One of the best ways to learn more about the community is during Trans Awareness Week in November. Check out this article for free resources and downloadables so you can plan a juicy event or simply show up for your mates.

ADD PRONOUNS TO YOUR SIGNATURE / SOCIAL MEDIA
It’s cooler if we all do it. Help create an inclusive world by adding your pronouns to your e-mail signature or on social media (y’know, your Instagram bio, Linkedin, etc). Really lean into it when you wear a pronoun badge on your lanyard.
